Aurora Gail Katherine (O'Kopski) Hildreth, daughter of the late V. Walter and Pearl (Hutchinson) O'Kopski was a 1969 graduate of West Senior High School in Garden City, Michigan. Aurora furthered her education at Schoolcraft College in Livonia, Michigan.
Aurora was married to Patrick D. Hildreth for thirty years of her life. She was employed by Ford Motor Company- Sheldon Plant for fifteen years.
Aurora was a devout Catholic; she received spiritual nourishment at St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Garden City, Michigan. She loved the outdoors, riding her motorcycle, and traveling nationally and internationally. Aurora loved adding stamps to her passport book.
Aurora loved to cook different and new food dishes and enjoy a good bottle of wine. Aurora could bake anything from cookies to wedding cakes. She would make special dishes for family gatherings.
Aurora loved working in her garden, listening to oldie's and country music. She loved to cuddle up with her dog, Harley, and watch movies. She loved black and white, cartoons and westerns.
Aurora Gail Katherine Hildreth, age 63, of Monroe, passed away at 4:05am at her sister's (Jewel) home in Dundee, Michigan, on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 with loved ones by her side. In addition to her parents, her passing was preceded one brother: Christopher O'Kopski; one sister in-law: Darlene O'Kopski; two Nephews: Jack and Eugene O'Kopski; one niece: Cheri O'Kopski; her beloved great-great niece Hailey Miller and her precious dog, Harley.
To cherish her memory she leaves five Godchildren: Pearl, Jimmy, Jolene, Jerame, and Deziree; five sisters: Jeannine (Robert) Murphy of Detroit, Jerilyn Davis of Garden City, Cheri Grassel of Wayne, Darlyn Lopez of Big Rapids, Jewel O'Kopski of Dundee; and six brothers: Eugene O'Kopski of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Jack O'Kopski of Howell, Val O'Kopski of Lincoln Park, LaVern (Judith) O'Kopski of Clayton, Michigan, Don (Ruth) O'Kopski of Monroe, and Terry O'Kopski of Monroe.
Friends may gather from 12:00pm-5:00pm on Sunday, March 8, 2015 at Merkle Funeral Service, South 14567 South Dixie Highway, Monroe (734)241-7070. A Rosary will follow at 5pm also at Merkle's. She will lie in state from 9:30am until the Mass of the Resurrection on Monday, March 9, 2015 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 127 North Monroe Street, with Father Louis Lapeyre officiating. Burial will take place at LeRoy Cemetery, in LeRoy, Michigan at a later date.
