Obituary of Margaret Workman
Please share a memory of Margaret to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Margaret Jane Butcher was born in Buckhannon, West Virginia on January 5, 1933. She was one of eight children born of the late Emory and Bessie (Wilmoth) Butcher. As a young girl, Margaret's family moved to the Monroe area.
Margaret married the love of her life, Fred Workman on December 29, 1950 in Upshur, West Virginia and from this union came the birth of eight children. Being a homemaker to her large family was a big responsibility, but Margaret also contributed outside the home working as a housekeeper for the Monroe Golf and Country Club and Jones Transfer Trucking Company for many years.
More than anything, Margaret loved her God, and she was a faithful servant. She was a very devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Margaret shared her love of Jesus with those around her. She was kind, loving, and inspirational. Margaret was very thoughtful and artistic. She never missed a birthday or special occasion. She often gave homemade, personal cards to others, and as if that wasn't enough she followed up with a phone call to chat or share a song.
Margaret Jane Workman, age 82, of Niles, Ohio formerly of Monroe passed away at home on Tuesday, February 10, 2015. In addition to her parents and siblings, her passing was preceded by her loving husband of thirty-six years: Fred in 1985 and two sons: Phillip "Joe" Workman and Everett "Chuck" Workman.
