Obituary of David Caudill

David Farrel Caudill May 14, 1955 - February 4, 2015 Dave Farrel Caudill was born in Prestonburg, Kentucky on May 14, 1955. He was one of three children raised by the late Fhirow and Cleta (Mitchell) Caudill. Dave graduated from Lincoln Park High School in 1974. Dave married the love of his life, the former: Jolene Romain on March 24, 1984 in Lincoln Park, Michigan. From this union would come the birth of two children. For many years, he worked in Production for General Motors. He was a proud member of UAW Local 22, retiring in 2014. Dave was very kind and compassionate, always having a kind word for everyone. He was a devoted family man, always placing the needs of his loved ones ahead of his own. More than anything, he valued the time he spent with his family. He also loved the outdoors and sharing his passions for hunting, fishing, swimming, and camping with family. Golfing was another of the favorite pastimes spent with his friends and family. From time to time, he could be found tending to the array of plants and vegetables in his garden. For many years he served as a hockey and baseball coach. He often enjoyed spending his spare time working out at the YMCA. Dave was an avid sports fan, rooting for the Detroit Tigers and Red Wings. He enjoyed watching college sports with his family, especially Aquinas College, Ohio State and Kentucky Wildcats. Dave Farrel Caudill, age 59 of Monroe, passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at the Promedica Monroe Regional Hospital. His passing was preceded by his father. To cherish his memory Dave leaves his loving wife of thirty years: Jolene Caudill; two sons: Ryan (Michelle Sargent) Caudill and Justen Caudill both of Monroe; his mother: Cleta Caudill of Lincoln Park; a sister: Sue (Don) Kish of Tipton, Michigan; a brother: Jeff Caudill of Lincoln Park; one grandchild: Audrey Caudill of Monroe; and nieces and nephews. Friends may gather from 1:00pm until 4:00pm Sunday, February 15, 2015 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of his Life will take place at 4:00pm also at Merkle's with Reverend Larry Lyons Chaplain of Promedica Monroe Regional Hospital officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
