Ruthann "Ma" (Ivey) Evans
September 17, 1941 - February 3, 2015
Ruthann "Ma" Evans was born on September 17, 1941 in Monroe. She was one of five children born from the union of the late Howard and the late Dorothy (Davis) Ivey.
Ruthann was a hard and dedicated worker. She supported her family in production for Ford Motor Company for twenty five years, retiring in 1984.
Ruthann was rather social and was quite astute. She had a keen sense about people and earned the trust of her many friends. Family was most important to Ruthann. She loved spending time with her family at her home, especially her grandchildren.
Ruthann appreciated the outdoors doing yard work and gardening; lilacs were her favorite flower. In her quiet time, she enjoyed listening to music in the company of her feline companions, "Rage" and "Sue."
Ruthann Evans, age 74, of Monroe passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Promedica Monroe Regional Hospital. In addition to her parents, her passing was preceded by a son: Richard Wayne; a daughter: Rebecca Lynn; two brothers: Richard and Howard Ivey; a grandson: Robert Church; and a great grandson: Caleb Sharp.
To cherish her memory she leaves six children: Navalla (David Rice) Joe Johnson of Monroe; Joyce Elizabeth Goode of Monroe; Dawn Goode of Monroe; Reaha Church of Monroe; Bardia (George Harris) Sharpe of Texas; Gail Sharpe of Pleasant Lake; two sisters: June Braden of Monroe and Linda Miracle of Monroe; twenty four grandchildren; more than forty great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Her Life will take place on Monday, February 9, 2015 at 11:00am in the Chapel of Prayer at Roselawn Memorial Park in LaSalle, Michigan. Pastor B.J. McDaniel of Frenchtown Missionary Baptist Church will officiate.
