Obituary of Clarence Goethe

Clarence Raymond Goethe was born in Dundee, Michigan on February 21, 1937. He was one of ten children born from the union of the late Harmon Goethe and Lillian (Jarvis) Goethe. Clarence served his country honorably by enlisting into the United State Army in 1955, serving two years in Germany. Clarence married the love of his life the former, Judy Reaume on October 31, 1986 in Toledo Ohio. He always referred to her as his sweet heart. Clarence was a former member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Ida Michigan and served there as an altar boy. Clarence worked for more than seventeen years as a Production Technician at Ford Motor Company. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Union and the National Rifle Association. For fifteen years Clarence lived up North in Alger Michigan where he enjoyed hunting, fishing and going to casinos. Due to declining health he moved back to his home town of Monroe. Skilled at woodworking, Clarence was a very handy man to have around, not only did he tackle projects around the home but he mastered them. Clarence was a wonderful and loving husband and father, who loved spending time with his family. He was a man with a great sense of humor, and always found time to have concern for others. Clarence Raymond Goethe, age 77, of Monroe passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 4:03 pm at Promedica Monroe Regional Hospital in Monroe Michigan. In addition to his parents his passing was preceded by two brothers: Harmon Jr. and Donald Goethe; and three sisters: Betty Sickles, Marge Welch, and Millie Szuma. To cherish his memory Clarence leaves his beloved wife: Judy Goethe; two daughters: Julie (Gary) Hansen of Utah and Jamie Goethe of Tennessee; one son: Jeff Goethe of Kentucky; a step daughter: Sherrie (Erik) Kreger of Monroe; three brothers: Gerald (Marge) Goethe of Alger Michigan, Maynard Goethe of California and Harold Goethe of Mio, Michigan; one sister: Edna Burton and seven grandchildren. Arrangements have been entrusted to Merkle Funeral Service, 14567 S. Dixie Hwy, Monroe (734)241-7070. A memorial service will take place at a later date.
