Dorothy Ann (Borghese) Anaszewicz was born in Columbus, Ohio on June 16, 1928. She was one of three children born from the union of the late Guido and the late Mary (Pomante) Borghese.
Dorothy married the love of her life John "Smoke" Anaszewicz in Monroe at St. Michael's Catholic Church. Dorothy had one daughter, Lorna Nichols-Turner. Dorothy worked at Champion Spark Plug in Toledo, Ohio in the microfilm department, retiring in 1978. More than anything, Dorothy loved her family, and she cherished the time she spent with them.
Dorothy loved to spend her spare time taking trips to the casino to gamble, play cards and Bunko. When she was young she loved to bowl. She also loved to volunteer in the community whenever she could and worked for Bingo for St. Michaels Church in Monroe. She was an avid Ohio State football fan. She was known to be the type of person who would do anything for anyone. She always cherished her time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also liked to travel.
Dorothy Ann (Borghese) Anasczewicz age 86 of Monroe passed away Thursday January 15, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family. In addition to her parents her passing was preceded by her beloved husband: John "Smoke" Anaszewicz and a brother: David Borghese and an infant great grand child, Shyeanne.
To cherish her memory, Dorothy leaves a daughter: Lorna (Keith Turner) Nichols-Turner of Monroe, a sister: Florence Scarpitti of Columbus, Ohio; a sister-in-law: Jacqueline Borghese; five grandchildren: Krista (Chad) Barker, Natalie Solomon, Blair (Derick Minton) Solomon, Brett (Corine Dusseau) Anthony "Tony" Solomon II and Ian Turner; ten great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Friends may gather from 2:00pm until 8:00pm on Monday, January 19, 2015 at Merkle Funeral Service; 2442 North Monroe Street in Monroe (734) 384-5185.A Celebration of Life will take place on Tuesday, January 20,2015 at 11:00am also at Merkle's. Procession will follow to Roselawn Memorial Park in LaSalle for burial.
