Obituary of Louis S. Zakar
Louis Stephen Zakar was born on January 23, 1951, in Mount Kisco, New York. He was one of three children born from the union of Stanley and Freida (Tinnerman) Zakar. He graduated with the Dundee High School class of 1969 and furthered his education by attending a few college courses.
Louis became a regular at auto shows, delighting in the opportunity to see the latest innovations and elegant designs up close. The auto shows were a haven for him, a place where he could indulge his automotive passion and connect with like-minded individuals. Car cruises were another highlight of Louis’s life, where he could join the company of other fellow car enthusiasts.
Louis also had a profound appreciation for the sensory delight of fireworks. The brilliance of the colors lighting up the night sky brought him a sense of wonder and joy, no matter how many times he experienced it.
Parades held a special place in Louis's heart. The Christmas in Ida parade, the Memorial Day parade, and the Monroe County Fair parades were among his favorites. He reveled in the festive spirit, the music, and the community coming together to celebrate.
Louis's faith was a cornerstone of his life. A member of New Life in Petersburg, he was deeply involved in his church. Attending seminars to hear evangelists speak was something he valued greatly, as these experiences enriched his spiritual appetite and connection to his great God. His church community was like a second family, providing support, friendship, and a shared sense of purpose.
Beyond his spiritual and social pursuits, Louis had a taste for food, especially good food. He had a particular fondness for Weber’s Inn in Ann Arbor. His absolute favorite meal was Applebee’s chicken and linguine dish, and he enjoyed it with the relish of a true food lover.
In the political sphere, Louis took an active interest and attended several Donald Trump rallies. He believed in being engaged and informed about the political landscape.
