I worked with Butch for the entire time he was at SMCC - he wasn't just a co-worker but a great friend! I always referred to him as my "Work Dad" and he so kindly referred to me as the "work daughter he never wanted"! We had the friendship that allowed us to tell each other "how things REALLY were" - hence, the previous mentioned title. I often lectured him on quitting smoking and getting healthy while he lectured me on Family first - Work second.
Tillman (as I was the only one allowed to call him that at work) was a great man and a great friend and will always be remembered with fondness. Rest in peace Buddy!

My memories of Butch are very fond, he was always a gentleman, had a great sense of humor and was a great friend. I will cherish the time spent together during our walks in the park and talks as we rode in the car. My one and only Mudhens game was with Butch, Chris and Diana and Bill and his ex wife Michelle. We had a blast! RIP Butch and thank you for being a companion and friend when I needed one the most. God bless the Knight family and may the peace that passes all human understanding be with you all during this difficult time. Joyce Lowe

I remember Butch fondly. He was such a kind man. I remember him picking up his daughter Lisa and I from skating. He was always so funny. When I spent the night he always make a great breakfast for us. He would take us to the mall. He was like a dad to everyone around him. R.I.P Butch. A wonderful man gone but never forgotten.41

I played baseball for Mr. Knight in the middle of the 1970's,in Rockwood, Michigan. Our Team won the city championship twice. He was a great coach. To this day I always remember what he said: The team that scores first usually wins. I grew up with Mr. Knights son Bill when they lived on Mckinly Street, in Rockwood. The Knights moved to Monroe in 1975, when Mr. Knight divorced Mrs. Knight.

I worked with Butch at SMCC and my children are alumni. My oldest son loved when Butch drove the bus for sporting events. It was evident that Butch loved being with the kids. Butch was always thoughtfull, sincere and kind. Always willing to go above and beyond the scope of his job. I am proud to have known Butch and will cherish the memories. Rest in peace my friend.

I am sorry to hear about Butch's passing. I worked with him for many years at SMCC and have many fond memories of him. He always called me "young lady" which I loved and he was a kind, hard-working man who was happy to do whatever was asked of him. Butch and his family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

R.i.p. Butch Knight the man who named me with wife Peggy Lee Knight. He was an amazing grandfather and father figure to me, especially while i lived with him and my great-grandmother. I will never forget the things he instilled in me. HONOR, PRIDE, INTEGRITY. I wish him peace in the next life. I never got to see him due to certain circumstances but, that bond transcends time and space. Good bye pa-pa. I'm so sorry i'll never get to say good-bye.
