Obituary of Patricia Jacobs

Patricia Jean (Hauser) Jacobs was born in Monroe, Michigan on August 31, 1931. She was one of eight children born from the union of the late Carl and Francis (Pete)Hauser. Patricia made her living as a dietician at Mercy Memorial Hospital for more than 30 years. She was a hardworking and compassionate woman. Patricia was a member of Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church in Monroe and taught catechism there for several years. Patricia was known for her love of music. She was always open to what her children were listening to and learned to love music not only from her own generation but of generations to follow. Patricia loved to spend time with her family. Her children were her life and all of her children's friends and even her co-workers call her Ma. She taught each and every one of her children to cook. Patricia loved new technology. Every gadget that her children brought around was another opportunity for her to learn. Her hobbies included fishing and playing cards. She also loved to take road trips with her kids. Patricia Jean Jacobs, age 83 of LaSalle passed away at 4:40pm, Friday, January 2, 2015 at Magnum Care in Monroe. In addition to her parents her passing was preceded by a son: James Jacobs Jr, a daughter: Janet Jacobs, a grandson: Curtis Cain, a sister: Joann Cousino and two brothers: Bill Hauser and Leo Ravary. To cherish her memory, Patricia leaves three daughters: Julie Leabhart of LaSalle, Joyce (Rick) Gedelian of LaSalle, and Jane (Dewey) Collins of LaSalle, Three sons : Jeffrey Jacobs of LaSalle, Jerry Jacobs of LaSalle and Joe (Suzette) Jacobs of Monroe, three brothers : Carl (Joann) Hauser, Michael Ravary, Jerry (Linda ) Ravary; Sister: Helen Woods. She leaves twelve grandchildren: Terry, Nichole, Jennifer, Shelly, Michael, Yvonne, Eli, Paul, Chad, Erik, Mike and Dewey and thirteen great-grandchildren. Friends may gather from 2:00pm until 8:00pm on Thursday January 8, 2015 at Merkle Funeral Service, South Monroe. Patricia will lie in state at 9:30am until a Mass of the Resurrection at 10:00am on Friday January 9, 2015 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Monroe with Father Louis Lapeyre officiating. Procession will follow to LaSalle Township Cemetery. Memorial donations for those who desire are suggested to the Family.
