Obituary of Deborah Carol Metcalf
Deborah Carol Taylor was born on December 27, 1956, in Richmond, Virginia. She was one daughter born from the union of Charles Hoyt and Martha Lillian (White) Taylor. Deb, as she later became known, relished in the role of being a stay-at-home mom to her children. She wholeheartedly embraced the role of motherhood to prioritize the needs of her family.
Deb’s passion for bingo brought joy and excitement to her life and those around her. From the local Knights of Columbus and VFW halls to Merchants Landing on Summit Street in Toledo, Ohio, Deb's presence in the bingo community was truly cherished. Her collection of bingo cards, neatly spread out within arm's reach, was a testament to her dedication to the game she loved. Every night spent playing bingo was a chance for her to immerse herself in a world of fun and camaraderie, eagerly waiting to shout "BINGO!" and share in the thrill of victory with her fellow players.
The art of knitting and crocheting allowed her to display her creative talents. From crafting bingo boxes to making beautiful scarves, blankets, and lamps, her work displayed how truly skilled she was. Not only was Deb passionate about her hobbies, but she also had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren, especially her beloved granddaughter Brooklyn, who was known to all the family as Deb’s BFF.
Deb found peace in the great outdoors, particularly through tent camping adventures at Sterling State Park, with Scott, the love of her life. Despite her love for nature and the peacefulness it brought, there was one thing that always sent a shiver down her spine and the occasional shriek was the sight of a slithery visitor.
Deborah Carol Metcalf, age 67, of Newport, passed away at her homeon Sunday; March 10, 2024, at 11:37pm. She was surrounded by her loved ones. Her passing was apreceded by her parents; a son: David; and a sister: Vanessa.
To cherish her memory, she leaves her significant other: Scott Beaudrie; two daughters: Teanna Wildern and Lacey (Benjamin) Keister; ten grandchildren: Michael, Kyle, Tianna, Justice, Joshua, Shaylynn, Jordan, Alex, Jaden, and Brooklynn; and one great granddaughter: Gabby.
No public services have been planned. Her care has been entrusted to Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe; 2442 North Monroe Street, Monroe, Michigan 48162 (734) 384-5185. Cremation has taken place through the crematory, Covenant Cremation of Erie, Michigan.
