I worked with Ron at Grubers (later Foodtown) on Monroe Street. I was a young kid in in high school bagging groceries and Ron was established, working in the meat dept. Even though he was working a skilled job, he treated me like I was one of the guys, always including me in conversations when we were taking our breaks at the same time. He was a great mentor and I looked up to him like a big brother. R.I.P. my friend. My condolences to Barb and the family.

With a sense of great personal loss, I want to say Ron was a co-worker,mentor, golfing buddy, and most of all, my friend. Ron retired before me and I can’t tell how much I missed seeing him come through that door and I would yell “ Yo Butch” and he would yell “Hey Tommy”and we would proceed to make the workday as enjoyable as a workday could be. All while getting the job done. A lot of deep conversation where we solved a lot of the worlds problems. We just couldn’t get anyone to listen.
On the golf course, early on, we traveled the county before we settled in at Green Meadows, one of the friendliest places on earth. I so much looked forward to those weekly hook ups with Him, Bill Day and Dale Riddle.
As a friend, he was a rock I could lean on and a sounding board for some other things I was involved in. Truly a Prince of a man. My sympathy goes out to Barb, Brian, Jenny and his wonderful family.
