Obituary of Shelley Marie Pickrell
Shelley Marie Brown was born in Trenton, Michigan on April 1, 1957. She was the eldest of three children born to the union of Bernard Brown and Nancy (Hoagland) Brown. She was a 1975 graduate of Trenton High School
Shelley was married to the love of her life: Larry Edward Pickrell by the Reverend Harold Raines in Monroe, Michigan on April 1, 1977. The couple were blessed with the birth of one son: Jason. While Larry provided financially for his family with employment at Chrysler, Shelley, managed the home front taking care of the needs of her husband and son as a homemaker. When first married they made their home in Frenchtown in the Beach Community. When Jason was five, they briefly moved to Trenton before making their way back to Monroe.
Shelly loved the outdoors and all of God’s creation. She had a green thumb and enjoyed nurturing her flowers, creating amazing, luscious gardens. She was always passionate about all animals, and time and time again made it her personal mission to feed as many as she could. Her goal was always to help them all. In a perfect world, she would have operated her very own animal sanctuary.
Shelly was also very talented at crafts. She completed many different projects, but crocheting was one of her true gifts as she shared many of her unique works of art to those she loved. When she found time to sit and relax, her mind was usually engrained in reading novels with Stephen King being her favorite author.
