I worked with John for years. At lunch time we would play euchre & I was John's partner our opponents were Ron & Larry. I wasn't a very alert when it came to who's turn it was to deal, Ron & Larry would steal my deal John would sit & laugh. I would then realize that I loss my deal again. We hardly ever won but John never asked for another partner. We always laughed & had fun playing cards. Those are memories I treasure. John will truly be missed. My thoughts & prayers go out to you all. Rest in peace my friend.

Growing up we didn't have much money for vacations, so we piled as many relatives as possible into a station wagon and headed north to Michagan. Uncle John and Aunt Dee Dee made the visit so much fun. They were always happy to open their home to us for weeks at a time. Uncle John was always kind and thoughtful and very giving. He had a special ability to find the amusing side of situations and could make us all laugh. He will be greatly missed!

When I left my small town in Tennessee to attend U of M, I knew that I had an aunt and uncle near campus. I would see them once or twice a year in TN so little did I know that when I moved to A2 that they would be such a help and comfort to me. Uncle John would ask me when I visited what do you want to eat? Anything I wanted he would grill enough for dinner as well as enough for me to take back to campus and eat on a few days. He would ask me do you need anything else to take back to school? Is your car okay? He worked 7 days a week but was always welcoming and happy when i visited. He was a man of few words but a loving and caring man that will be missed. I love you Uncle John and know that you are resting peacefully.

To the Cox family: We are so very sorry to hear about John's passing. We have lived across the street from him and Delores for almost 30 years and we could not have asked for a better neighbor or friend. You are in our thoughts.

To Delores and family, So sorry to hear about John's passing. I remember you guys over the years and my Mom and Dad (John and Mary Ellen) talking about you. Delores it meant so much when you used to call my Mom while she was sick. I still miss my Mom and Dad so much. They were great parents. My sympathy to all of your family and may God bless you all.
