I met Donna in August 2019 when I moved into Norman Towers. We played Bingo and Bunco every week. We had so much fun playing the games and talking every week. At Christmas Donna made the best molasses cookies homemade. I made different cookies, too. We would give out cookies to our friends at Norman Towers. Donna told me so many great stories of her family history. Her dad made the Rex dog when it was by Steelcasting many years ago. Donna would keep bows . The original Rex is at the Monroe County Community College on Raisinville Rd here in Monroe. Later another Rex II was made. He is located at the fire Station on W Elm Ave here in Monroe. When Donna wasn't able to ride her electric scooter, I would take a ride by and let her know Rex had a red bow around his neck. Donna always bought the bows at Dollar Tree on Telegraph Rd. She promised her dad she would take care of Rex.
Sending all prayers to let you know your family is not alone. Donna will always be a part of my heart. I was so privileged to meet a great friend like Donna. I know one day I will meet her again in heaven.
Sharron Totten helped Donna when she couldn't do things by herself, too. The picture is of Christmas luncheon in 2019. Donna didn't know I took the picture, Lol.
Rest in Peace my friend.

So sorry to learn of Donna‘s passing, but then again, I know her pain and suffering days are over and that she’s in God‘s great heaven waiting for me to come and sing her a few more songs. Renee and I send deepest condolences to her family and all who knew and loved this dear woman

Going to miss you my friend. We have been friends since 1992 working together at Dr Stephen Reeds, ophthalmology office, where she got the nick name, Big Donna. We have shared tears, fears, laughs and a few beers! Shaun her son babysat my sons on occaision and one time my youngest broke a light in her home.(Who knows what the three of those boys were doing!) She was one of the only people I know who knew remembered birthdays, special occaisions for everyone she cared about. I am going to miss our hour long talks to catch up on just about anything. This last Christmas she was feeling sad that she probably wont be able to get out and give, "Rex," his bow for the holidays. I told her no worries, he will have his bow! I went and really decked him out this Christmas with a bow,a wreath and a Santa hat. I was able to send her a picture of him, she was so happy she had tears. She wanted to pay me back, I said, "No, this is my gift to you, I love you my friend." Even though she wasnet able to see him much but alot of our talks she spoke how proud she was of Shaun, his wife and most of all Kellan her grandson and wished she could see them more. May she Rest In Peace,no longer in pain. She will be missed by many but a bit more by me.
