Ervin Leo Klatt was born in Monroe, Michigan on September 19, 1926. He was one of twelve children born from the union of the late Otto and Elsie (Heiden) Klatt. Ervin enlisted in the United States Army and served his country honorably during the Korean War.
For many years, Ervin worked in maintenance until retiring around 1988. Ervin was a quiet man, that often kept to himself. He liked people and enjoyed children will be remembered as a very generous man as he often gave to others without any expectation of having the favor returned. In his free time, Ervin enjoyed following the Detroit Tigers and watching wrestling on the television.
Ervin Leo Klatt, age 88 of Monroe, passed away at 8:05pm on Sunday, November 30, 2014 at Medilodge of Monroe. In addition to his parents passing he was preceded by five brothers: Donald, Harold, Kenny, Herbert, and Jimmy Klatt; and two sisters: Linda Hucarski and Wanda Klatt.
To cherish his memory, Ervin leaves two brothers: Richard (Anita) Klatt and Robert Klatt both of Monroe; two sisters: Marilyn Allred of Portage, Indiana, and Norma Wood of Temperance; and many nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place through Southern Michigan Services in Livonia, Michigan. A private memorial service is being planned for a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Merkle Funeral Service; 2442 North Monroe Street (734)384-5185.
