Patrick W. Pavlat died Thursday, November 27, 2014 at his home in Monroe, Michigan. He was born on October 28, 1942 to William H. and Alice "Mickey" Pavlat in Detroit. He is survived by his wife Janet; his son: Jeff and his children Benjamin and Anna of Bethesda, Maryland; his daughter: Lori (Stan) Benedict and their children Erin and Noelle of Davis, California; and step-son: Todd (Chia) Rogers and their children Grace, Glen, and Benjamin of Collegeville, Pennsylvania. He is also survived by his mother: Mickey, and brothers: Jerry and Dan, as well by several nieces and nephews. He is preceded by his father, his sister: Elizabeth, and his nephew: John.
Pat was a 1960 graduate of St. Agatha's Catholic School, a 1963 graduate of Henry Ford Community College (Registered Nurse), and 1967 graduate of the University Of Michigan School Of Anesthesia. Pat practiced anesthesia at various local hospitals for 35 years before his retirement. He enjoyed spending time at his property in the Upper Peninsula and on the Great Lakes waterfront, following the freighter activity.
Friends may gather from 3:00pm until 6:00pm on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Merkle Funeral Service; 2442 North Monroe Street (734)384-5185. A Celebration of His Life will follow at 6:00pm with Father Brian Chabala, pastor of St. Irenaeus Catholic Church of Rochester Hills officiating.
