James Patrick Brazill February 11, 1949 -November 19, 2014 James Patrick Brazill was born in Detroit on February 11, 1949. He was one of eight children born from the union of the late Bernard Brazill, Jr. and Dorothy (Sorke) Brazill. He attended St. Anne Parish where he received his first communion. He was a graduate of Jefferson High School in Monroe, Michigan. James was a hard worker and an excellent provider for his children. He worked for the "Big Three", Chrysler, Ford, and General Motors. The last seventeen years James worked at Willow Run, and he was a member of UAW Local #1730. James loved being outdoors, and was happiest when soaking up the sunshine. He was an avid boater and enjoyed casting a few lines as well. James liked gardening, having a green thumb with both vegetables and flowers. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed making others laugh. James was a gentle and kind soul with a caring spirit, his devotion for his own family was evident in his interaction with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. James, age 65, of Rockwood, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 with his loving family by his side. He had been under the care of Promedica Hospice. His passing was preceded by his parents. To cherish his memory, James leaves his four children: Scott (Kathleen) Brazill of Gibraltar, Kelly (Russ) Cooper of Asheville NC, Kimberly (Jeff) Machus of South Rockwood and Kristi Bussell of Lincoln Park; seven brothers and sisters: Diane (Bill) Moede and Michael (Pat) Brazill of Monroe, Timothy (Kyle) Brazill of Wyandotte, Patricia VanWasshnova of South Rockwood, Susie Gill of Walkerville, Leslie (Rebecca) Brazill of Port Huron and Linda (Jerry) Willis of Newport; thirteen grandchildren: Ashly, Katelynn, Shanyna, Jeffrey, Zachary, Aaron, Derek, Chad, Adam, Chantal, Brandon, Heaven and Blaine ; three great grandchildren: Riley, Emma, and Landon. Friends may gather from 3:00-8:00pm on Monday, November 24, 2014 at Merkle Funeral Service; 2442 North Monroe (734) 384-5185. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00pm. James will lie in state from 9:00am until the Mass of the Resurrection at 10:00am on Tuesday; November 25 at St. Anne's Parish, 2420 North Dixie Highway with Father John Chinnappa officiating. Procession will follow to Michigan Memorial Park. Memorial donations are suggested to the family.
