Obituary of Judy Spear - Ferry

Judy Evelyn Ferry age 67, formerly of Monroe, Michigan passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Hospice Center of Wichita Falls, Texas to a short battle with pancreatic cancer. Judy Evelynn (Spear) Ferry was born in Zanesville, Ohio on December 6, 1946. She was the first born daughter of the late Novel Spear and Kathleen (Keadle) McGrail. On February 28, 1964 she married Charles Edward Ferry and they were married for 26 years. Together they raised four daughters. Judy resided in Monroe, Michigan for most of her life. She enjoyed working in retail at various places such as, Elder-Beerman, the Tot-Shop, and Klines, off and on for some twenty-five years. Judy was a member of Monroe Apostolic Church for 18 years. She was a Sunday School teacher while attending there. She enjoyed helping with the fund raiser of making peanut brittle with the other ladies. She was an excellent hair stylist and enjoyed fixing hair for some of the ladies in the church. Along with her many talents, she instilled in her daughters a love for God and a dependence upon Him. Judy was an incredible designer and used her talents to create beauty around her family. She was always elegantly dressed, had a bubbly personality, and often teased. To cherish her memory Judy leaves her mother: Kathleen (Keadle) McGrail; three children: Nancy (Don) Sherwood of Taylor, Kelly (Les) Schaffer of Monroe and LesLee (Michael) Clark of Erie; four brothers: Bob (Paula) Long of St. Clairsville, Ohio, Tommy (Dora) Alton of Florida, Robert McGrail of Zanesville, Ohio, and Patrick Spear of Newark, Ohio; two sisters: Doris (Perry) Brown of Zanesville, Ohio and Kimberly Mitchel of Zanesville, Ohio; seventeen grandchildren; and fourteen Great-grandchildren. In addition to her father, her passing was preceded by her grandparents: Harry and Beaulah Keadle, and grandson: Jeffrey Schaffer and a great nephew, Suede Brown. Cremation has taken place in Texas. A memorial service will take place at 3:00pm on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Grace Point Church, 2535 North Monroe St. Monroe MI, 48162, (734)241-3438 with Pastor Bruce Leaman officiating. Memorial donations are suggested to Gracepoint UPC of Monroe, Michigan or Hospice Center of Wichita Falls, Texas in her honor.
