Obituary of Frank Julius Jones
Frank Julius “Frankie” Jones or “Frank Nitti” as his friends affectionately called him was born on March 11, 1956 in Monroe, Michigan. He was the son of Curtis Lee and Deloris (Leak) Jones. Frankie attended Monroe High School in Monroe, Michigan and although he did not graduate, he later in life obtained his GED. For many years, Frankie was employed in the food pantry closet at Oaks of Righteousness Church in Monroe, Michigan.
Frankie loved to fish on Lake Erie and enjoyed catching walleye and lake perch. He enjoyed dancing to any type of music but the rhythm and blues were his favorite. Frankie loved helping people with odd jobs or basically anything they needed help with. His true enjoyment in life was spending time with some of his good friends, especially his special friend; “T”.
Frank Julius Jones, age 66 of Monroe passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday; February 26, 2023. His passing was preceded by his parents: Curtis and Deloris Jones and his paternal and maternal grandparents.
To cherish Frankie’s memory he leaves a son: Frank Parker of Detroit, Michigan; two aunts: Anna (John) Rocker of Romulus, Michigan and Geraldine (Joe) Buford of Ypsilanti, Michigan; an uncle: Colton L. Jones of Monroe; his special companion: Nicky Ward; a special cousin: Willy Rocker; a step-sister: Danielle, and a host of cousins and friends.
Friends may gather on Saturday; March 4, 2023, from 1:00pm until 2:00pm at Merkle Funeral Service, South Monroe; 14567 South Dixie Highway, Monroe, Michigan 48161 (734) 241-7070. A Homegoing Celebration of Frankie’s Life will be held at 2:00pm also at Merkle’s with Pastor Heather Boone from Oaks of Righteousness Church officiating. Cremation will follow through the on-site crematory, Covenant Cremation of Erie, Michigan.
