Jeanette Lee Maddox
December 31, 1931 - November 6, 2014
Jeanette Lee Ziegler was born in Monroe on December 31, 1931. She was one of five daughters born from the union of the late Anthony J. "Tony the kiteman" and Margaret (Boushaw) Ziegler.
Jeanette married the love of her life, Wade Maddox on June 2, 1951 in Monroe. Jeanette was a loving wife and mother, a homemaker, who along with her husband, raised eight children. Over the course of her years, Jeanette played an important role in helping manage the family business, Maddox Builders. Earlier in her life, she was a bus driver for Trinity Lutheran School.
Jeanette cherished the time spent with her children and grandchildren. But the love she shared with Wade was like no other. They were a couple that was virtually inseparable. They loved doing things together. Among them were square dancing, bowling (a member of the Lady Kegler's bowling league), camping, singing with the family and playing the piano. Jeanette loved crocheting and also volunteered her time on the activities committee at Mable Kehres Senior Living residence.
Jeanette Lee Maddox age 82 of Monroe was called from this earthly life unto her new Heavenly home on Thursday, November 6, 2014 with her beloved family at her side. She had been under the care of Mercy Memorial Hospice. In addition to her parents her passing was preceded by her husband of sixty-three years: Wade on October 12, 2014; a sister: Betty Chapman; and a great granddaughter: Casey Maddox.
To cherish her memory she leaves eight children: James (Mary) Ziegler of The Villages, Florida, David (Carol) Ziegler of Carleton, Sharon (David) Dart of Monroe, Evelyn Hamlin of Lambertville, Wade L. (Pam) Maddox of Temperance, Wayne (Jeanette) Maddox of Monroe, Pamela (Mark) Brooks of Ida, and Darlene Waltbillig of Monroe; three sisters: Anna Mae Fleeman, Margaret Ann Mackey, and Laurie Kay Schultz all of Monroe; a brother-in-law: Bruce (Margie) Keck of Kokomo, Indiana; twenty grandchildren; many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
