Obituary of Billy Price

Billy Ray Price was born in Monroe, Michigan on November 12, 1956. He was one of six children born from the union of the late Percy and Irene (Woods) Price. Billy was a very hard worker. In fact he enjoyed a good day's work, and no doubt had many through his twenty-seven years of employment in the construction industry. He was a proud member of the Local 465 Laborer's Union. Billy believed in giving back to his community as well, and freely gave of himself as a volunteer for both the Philadelphia House and Salvation Army. Billy was known to be polite, pleasant, and well mannered, a true gentleman. Although, Billy was quite laid-back, he took a great deal of pride in his appearance staying clean cut and he even enjoyed ironing his clothes to get that right look. Billy married the love of his life, the former Rebecca "Dolly" Standifer on April 22, 1999. In his free time, Billy made the most of being in the great outdoors. He loved camping, fishing, and having bonfires. Billy also had a great appreciation for music and enjoyed dancing. He was an excellent pool shooter. Billy Ray Price Sr., age 57 of Monroe, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, October 24, 2014. In addition to both of his parents, his passing was preceded by a brother: Gillis Price, and an infant great grandchild. To cherish his memory, Billy leaves his loving wife; Rebecca "Dolly" Price of Monroe; six children: Bill (Nicole) Price of Monroe, Misty (Richard) Duvall of Monroe, Brandy (Jason) Berry of Wyandotte, Rex (Bobbi-Jo) Price of Monroe, Wendie (Gary) Duvall of Monroe, and Amanda (Jonathan) Duvall of Monroe; two sisters: Sharon (Gary) Russeau of Monroe and April (Frank) Price of LaSalle; two brothers: Robert (Sandy) Price of Arizona, and Kenny Price of Monroe; twenty-two grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Friends may gather from 2:00pm until 7:00pm on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of His Life will follow at 7:00pm also at Merkle's Cremation will follow. Memorial donations are suggested to the family.
