Obituary of Donna Owsley

Donna Fay (Farner) Owsley was born on February 15, 1956 in Monroe, Michigan. She was the daughter of the late William G. and the late Florence Ann (Lowghman) Farner. Donna has spent her life in Monroe and graduated from Monroe High School in 1974.
Donna supported her family through employment at Walmart as a night stocker for over nineteen years, until medically retiring in June of this year.
Donna was truly a good person that had a beautiful smile. She was a kind and fun loving woman. She loved her grandchildren and she was very close to her sisters. Donna had a passion for collecting black and white cows and decorated her entire kitchen that way. She enjoyed baking, especially Christmas cookies, always making an abundance to give away to others. Every Christmas, Donna enjoyed making gifts for her family. She would crochet blankets for new mothers as she was very crafty.
Donna had a very positive attitude on life and while battling through cancer. She was a strong willed individual and loved her life.
Donna, age 58 of Monroe passed away on Monday, September 22, 2014 at Toledo Hospital after a valiant battle with cancer. In addition to her parents, her passing was preceded by two sisters: Anita Bert and Elaine Farner; a brother-in-law: Steven Lipp.
To cherish her memory she leaves a daughter: Sarah (Vernon) Tillman of Monroe; two sons: Robert (Kyrstal) Owsley of Norwalk, Ohio and Kalvin (Holly) Owsley of Newport; three sisters: Cynthia (Ron) Frear of Toledo, Bonnie (Ron) Vollmer of Monroe and Emily Lipp of Newport; six grandchildren: Jakobe, Nakiya, Mason, Ian, Khloe and Dominik; her ex-husband: Doug Owsley; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Friends may gather from 2:00-8:00pm, Friday, September 26, 2014 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of Her Life will take place at noon on Saturday, September 27, 2014 also at Merkle's with Pastor Tim Iocoangeli, associate pastor of Monroe Missionary Baptist Church officiating. Procession will follow to Roselawn Memorial Park in LaSalle, Michigan for burial.
