Obituary of Lonnie Thompson

Lonnie Thompson, age 62, of Maybee, passed away Tuesday morning, December 28, 2010 at his home following a long illness. Lonnie was born April 4, 1948 to James and Verna (Sullivan) Thompson at Feds Creek, Kentucky. He had many joys in life: he loved to sing; loved puppies and women; loved bar-b-q chicken and ribs; chair dancing; hunting with his father when he was a young boy and was able to fill an entire room with his laugh. He was a very special individual. His survivors include his mother Verna Thompson also of Maybee, two brothers William (Rose) Thompson of Monroe and James (Joyce) Thompson of Kentucky; five sisters Aline (Eugene) Wegner of Clinton, Denise Marie (Dennis) Allan of Belleville, Janette Pearl (Kenneth) Burnham of Maybee, Bessie Baggett of Dundee and Yvonne (Richard) Abbott of Detroit; also several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Ernest Virgil Thompson Sr. Friends may call at the Cover Funeral Home, 297 Tecumseh Street in Dundee (734-529-3156) on Friday, December 31, 2010 from 10:00 A.M. until his funeral service at 2:00 P.M. Officiating will be the Rev. Rick VanCleave, pastor of Eagle Saints Outreach in Detroit. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dundee. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
