Obituary of JD Beason

J.D. Beason was born in Tazewell, Tennessee on January 5, 1929. He was the son of the late Willian Jeff Beason and the late Mary (Mays) Beason. As a teenager, J.D. moved to Monroe where he would spend the rest of his life. J.D. served his country honorably as a member of the United States Army.
He married the love of his life the late Della Johnson on September 24, 1948 in Monroe. Together they would share more than sixty-one years of marriage and from this union came the birth of two sons. For many years J.D. supported his family as a Boiler Operator at the River Raisin Paper Mill.
J.D. was a family man first. He loved them very much and strived to give them all they needed. He was generous and loving and a wonderful proud grandfather.
J.D. enjoyed his retirement. He was very active with the Ash and Frenchtown Senior Centers. J.D. loved to go bowling, loved his time spent at the casino and had participated in local golf leagues as well. He made many friends along the way. J.D. especially loved taking his family on vacations. He took many cruises. An Alaskan Cruise was among his favorites.
J.D. Beason, age 83 of Monroe passed away at 4:25am, Saturday, February 25, 2012 at Mercy Memorial Hospital. In addition to his parents and his beloved wife Della on May 18, 2010 his passing was preceded by a son: Vernon Bruce Beason in 1994; a grandson: Brett Beason; a great grandson: Dylan Beason; two brothers: Jack and Paris Roy; and two sisters: Dorothy & Elsie.
His memory will forever be cherished by a son: Kenny (Kathleen) Beason of Estral Beach; a daughter-in-law: Donna Beason of New Boston; two brothers: Ralph (Lois) Beason of Tennessee and Austin Beason of Monroe; three grandchildren: Dan (Erin) Beason of New Boston, Lori (Andy) Slovik of Belleville, and Rebecca Beason of New Boston; and her great grandchildren: Kayleigh, Cora, Mason, Brynn, Lucas, and Henry.
Friends may gather from 3:00pm until 8:00pm, Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of His Life will take place at 11:00am, Wednesday, February 29, 2012 also at Merkle's. Procession will follow to Roselawn Memorial Park in LaSalle for burial.
